Manchester United F.C. have announced the signing of Youri Tielemans, subject to registration, with the midfielder signing a contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2031.
The Belgium international arrives after another impressive season in the Premier League and has recently returned from the FIFA World Cup, where he captained his country to the quarter-finals.
Tielemans enjoyed a successful campaign with Aston Villa, registering seven assists and helping the club lift the UEFA Europa League trophy. He also scored the opening goal in the final against SC Freiburg.

Statistically, the midfielder was one of the Premier League's standout performers last season. Among attackers and midfielders, he completed the highest number of defensive line-breaking passes per 100 passes and ranked second for line-breaking passes made under pressure.
Speaking after completing his move, Tielemans expressed his excitement at joining one of English football's most successful clubs.
"It's hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United. Signing for such a special club feels incredible, it is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.
"I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years."

Manchester United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, welcomed the signing and highlighted the midfielder's consistency and experience in English football.
"Youri has consistently been one of the most outstanding midfielders in the Premier League throughout the past seven years. He has all of the technical qualities, as well as the ambition and mentality, to thrive at Manchester United.
"Youri's consistency is exceptional, and he will add further composure, creativity and leadership to our squad. We are delighted to welcome a player of his influence and experience, both on the pitch and within the dressing room, as we continue to build a team ready to challenge for the biggest honours."

The 90-cap Belgian international is expected to strengthen United's midfield options as the club continues its efforts to compete for major domestic and European honours in the coming seasons.
